Armed with an MA in Cinema from the prestigious University of Tehran, I am a film researcher, writer, and director. Over the past 9 years, I have delved deeply into academic scholarship within Film Studies, particularly focusing on films that employ a satiric mode to critique established sociopolitical structures, often featuring antihero protagonists. My research in this area has greatly informed my work. In the realm of filmmaking, I've applied these insights to create 5 short narratives and 1 documentary, along with hundreds of short comedy films for various social media platforms. Additionally, I've had the privilege of working as a writer and director on the production team of Khandevaneh, the most popular Iranian TV show. Currently employed at Safir Language Academy on a full-time basis, my responsibilities include researching the impact of comedy films on English language instruction for Iranian ESL students. I also create comedy films designed to integrate the target language into real-life situations. Furthermore, I've dedicated 9 years to teaching English.

Description: In my thesis, titled "Suspense in Mise-en-scene in Denis Villeneuve's Cinema (Case Study: 'Prisoners', 'Sicario', and 'Arrival')", I delved into the intricate relationship between suspense, curiosity, and surprise as crucial dramatic elements within the films of renowned director Denis Villeneuve and explored their psychological implications. Through an in-depth examination of Villeneuve's films, namely "Prisoners", "Sicario", and "Arrival", I sought to understand how suspense is meticulously created and maintained through the strategic use of mise-en-scene. Mise-en-scene refers to the arrangement of visual elements within a scene, encompassing aspects such as setting, lighting, costumes, and props. Furthermore, my research explored the psychological impact of suspense, curiosity, and surprise on the audience. I investigated how these narrative elements engage viewers' emotions, heighten their anticipation, and ultimately immerse them in the cinematic experience. By analyzing the interplay between storytelling techniques and psychology, I aimed to shed light on the powerful effects that Villeneuve's films have on viewers' engagement and emotional responses.
Description: In my role as a writer and director at Safir Language Academy, I have undertaken extensive research on the use of satirical films in English language instruction for ESL students within the "900" project. This endeavor has enabled me to develop a template for such films, paving the way for the creation, writing, and direction of a substantial number of movies in this domain.
